| Open the whole year. ...LOCATION: The Finca - Agrotourism C'an Beneït is located in a peaceful valley, in Majorca's Sierra de Tramuntana and is a perfect example of a traditional seignorial domain, completely renovated and conceived for its new role as a rural hotel...DINING-ROOM: Ca'n Beneït serves breakfast and dinner in its dining room and on the terrace when the weather permits. Breakfast starts from 9 am and we offer a very copious buffet with fresh orange juice from the property and our own marmelades. For dinner we offer a traditional Mallorquin menu composed of the day's fresh products from the local market and our own as we grow many vegetables and fruits, raise sheep and goats and make our own virgin olive oil.Dinner is served at 8 pm...SURROUNDING: Ca'n Beneït itself is on 100 hectares of land on which grow olive trees, almond trees which flower at the end of January, orange trees which flower in May, rosemary, juniper, carob trees and many pine trees. We have goats and sheep and in the sky you can see falcons, eagles and black ravens. In the surrounding area of Ca'n Beneït you'll be able to enjoy a golf course at only 15 kms, a visit to the monestary of Lluc at 5 kms or to the caves of Campanet at 3kms or you can take a 45mns drive to the spectacular beach of La Calobra.The area also offers much in terms of excursions and we will be glad to assist you and provide all the information that you may need...OLIVE PRESS: The pressing of olives to make olive oil which has existed in Binibona for centuries is still alive in Ca'n Beneït in the most traditional way. Here our visitors can see all the steps needed to make the finest virgin olive oil and of course taste it! The harvest of the olives takes place at the end of November and you will get to see how we first crush the olives using the stone mill in the picture below and fill bags of fibers called capachos with the crushed olives. How we then stack these capachos one on top of the other and run hot water on them to rinse the olive paste before placing the stack of bags in the press. You will see our 1939 piston activated press in action as it extracts the oil which runs into vats where it separates from the water. You will see how we waste nothing and how the remnants of the pressed olives are used as combustible for the press's oven. And before we scoop the oil out of the vats to place it in jars, you will be able to dip your pieces of bread that we have previously cooked in our wood oven for a memorable culinary experience... POOL: Ca'n Beneït's swimming pool offers its visitors complete relaxation with fabulous vues onto the surrounding montains. The pool is a lenght of 12.5 metres and up to 7 metres wide and is bordered by long chairs and comfortables areas where you can fully enjoy peace and serenity and where we can serve refreshments...Open all year round. |
